In this episode Chris explores a documentary titled "Secret Life of Chaos" narrated by Professor of Physics at the University of Surrey. We explore the scientific creation narrative and find the core of the mystery of reality resting on three mathematical principles...Self-organization, Feedback and Fractal geometry. We then take the scientific story and lay it over the mythological one to see how they match up. Spoiler alert...more than you could ever have imagined.

In this episode we talk to the Great Eddie, a friend from Kyle and Chris' past. Matt joins as well to tell the story of the times in which our lives crossed over the years. We talk Roe v Wade, the morality of abortion and propose alternatives. A little bit of God sprinkled in and there you have it.

S2E36 - Jung’s Greatest Pupil Part 4 - The Hole in Our Selves

This episode picks up where we left off with Louis von Franz. We jump head first into fairytales from Siberia, Germany and indigenous America. We see snakes crawling out of king's mouths while they're sleeping and the homes of long dead relatives beneath a brook in the forest. We encounter holes and wells and the end of the world...all of which reveal themselves to be portals from this world into the Unconscious world. We fall into it like you might into a well, by sinking deep within ourselves. There we find the underworld of the Unconscious, where dangers lie, but great treasure too--both equally unknown.

S2E35 - Jung’s Greatest Pupil Part 3 - Maga Mater

In this episode we follow Erich Neumann from the primordial symbol of the self-created Uroboros to the primeval Great Mother. This journey is a perilous one! Consciousness has to find a way to tear itself free of the place of its birth--The Great Mother. But once it's succeeded, it finds itself at the mercy of fate and fear. The "Self," once achieved, finds itself in the Unknown...submerged, struggling and terrified. Neumann then shows us this same story, our story, through the minds and times of bygone peoples. In deepest antiquity as in the modern day, we acknowledge the Great Mother as Mother Earth, as the Universe, as the Goddess of life and death. We imagine her holding her new born son, like Horus, Marduk or the Christ child. She is the cosmos swaddling the new God. She is comfort and sustenance and peace...and yet we must wean! We suffer, yes, but wean we must in order to be.

S2E34 - Gandalf the Red Part 5 - Redemption

This episode concludes the first part--Liber Primus--of Jung's Red Book. Shit is getting thick, as Jung encounters the force of consciousness in the form of the Prophet Elijah and the force of unconsciousness in the form of Salome. We descend together into the underworld over and over and see many wild and strange things. We shrink to miniscule size Alice in Wonderland style; we see images of the future come to fruition in the Second World War and the image of God as a child gestating in each and every one of us. Together we become One, Christ and the new God born from the corpse of the old.

S2E33 - Order Mitosis

In this episode Kyle and Chris talk about the immediate effects of cutting pornography out of your life. Chris talks out an idea that he's been developing in the form of an image. Kyle explains why women are too emotional to be taken seriously and accuses every Disney movie ever made of being progressive propaganda, Chris pumps the brakes. Jordan Peterson and his very rare terrible takes are called out while addressing how pointless everything Matthew McConaughey said about gun control was. Kyle then closes out the episode all by his lonesome, rambling about nothing in particular because he's not used to doing the podcast by himself.

S2E32 - Jung’s Greatest Pupil Part 2 - von Franz, the Indefinite Place and the Moon

In this first installment of Jung's Greatest Pupil, we discussed Erich Neumann and the symbol of the Uroboros. In Part 2 we pit Neumann against Marie-Louise von Franz. von Franz takes us on a journey through various fairytales from around the world and reveals the psychological symbolism in them. Much like Jordan Peterson did with his Biblical lectures, von Franz does with humanity's oldest stories...our fairytales. Let's take a "trip" together (some pun intended) to the Moon, to ancestral realm, deep within ourselves.

S2E30 - Jung’s Greatest Pupil - Neumann’s Uroboros

In this episode we examine the opening chapter of Erich Neumann's great book The Origin and History of Consciousness...the book that Jung said he'd wished he'd written. We cover the stories we tell about the birth of the cosmos--our creation myths--and learn how they are really covert stories about the birth of consciousness. These stories center around the symbol of the Uroboros, the snake eating its own tail, the union of opposites. Neumann helps us to make sense of this and for that we say, thank you.
